Selection of “New Bordeaux” Châteaux
The rise in prices, not to mention the speculation which has gathered pace in Bordeaux since the 1995 vintage, only involves some 250 Châteaux producing Crus Classés and related wines. With its 8,000 wines, Bordeaux continues to be an inexhaustible source of authentic and dependable wines, the genuine reflection of their terroir, and available at highly affordable prices. It is from this source that we are trying, through our “New Bordeaux” range, to present a representative sample of the different types of taste which exist today in wines produced in Bordeaux.
This independent committee is chaired by Franck Dubourdieu :
Active in the Bordeaux wine business for 35 years, Franck DUBOURDIEU is one of the major personalities in the world of wine in Bordeaux.
An agronomist, oenologist and possessor of a DUAD (tasting) diploma from the Faculty of Oenology, he is the author of two leading works on tasting: Les Grands Bordeaux depuis 1945 (3rd edition Mollat 2000) and " Les Bons Bordeaux abordables " [Good Affordable Bordeaux] containing 1,500 addresses and 25,000 tasting notes on the best AOC Bordeaux wines.
